Our church is on a journey to developing more and more communities that will help us to reach out to the world around us. We call them Barnabas Communities.
A Barnabas Community is a group of anything from 15 to 30 or more people who are united, through Christian community, around a common service or vision and witness to a particular neighbourhood or network of relationships. For example, the missional focus could be reaching a particular local area, a ‘people group’ e.g. University Students, young adults, young families or the elderly through serving at a local care home! Each community has a distinct name, focus and vision. There is lots of variety.
Barnabas communities are larger than home or cell groups but are smaller than a ‘Sunday church’ service. One of the best ways to describe a Barnabas community is that feels like extended family on mission. They are great fun and we would love to share more information with you. The best way to find out more is to speak to each individual community leader, our welcome team or any member of the staff team.
