The church we want to be and become...

On fire for God
increasing vision of the greatness of our God
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' Mark 12v30

Radical love
breaking the boundaries of convention and comfort
You shall love your neighbour as yourself.' Mark 12v31

 

  • A worshipping community – committed to and expectant of an encounter with the living God: encouraged to bring the whole of life – joy and lament, faith, doubt and questioning – into God's presence. Psalm 27v8-10

  • A praying community – dependent on God, seeking a growing faith in who he is and a vision for his kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. John 15v5

  • A transforming community – persevering to maturity, committed to the long haul of discipleship, seeking healing for our brokenness. Colossians 1v28-29

  • A genuine community – learning to be real with one another about our lives and our relationships: interdependent and committed to one another. 1 Peter 1v22

  • A self-giving community – using the gifts God has given us in joyful, faithful, fruitful and focused ways: equipping people for future ministry. Ephesians 4v11-13

  • An all age community – children, young people and adults valuing one another: living, working and worshipping together, valuing each other's uniqueness. Acts 4v32

  • A welcoming community – roots deep, but walls down: welcoming others, engaging with our geographical and personal communities. Mark 12v31

  • A reconciling community – being united in the gospel with other churches in Cambridge. John 17v20-21

  • A holistic community – living out our faith in the whole of life: finding God where we've not expected Him to be. Romans 12v1-2

  • A missionary community – reaching out to the world with the gospel of Christ: equipping and sending people into God's world. Matthew 28v16-20
