STUDENTS
Whether you've just arrived in Cambridge or have been coming to St Barnabas for a while, we want you to feel at home in the church family here and invite you to take up some of the opportunities to get involved:
-
STUDENT LUNCH: come join other students for lunch along Mill Road after the morning service each week, leaving from the broom in the Square (between the Main Hall and the Church Entrance) after the morning service.
-
NITE CAFÉ runs after the evening service, a chance to relax and chat over hot chocolate in the Square. Helen K ( ) would also love to hear from you if you could help serve on a café team once a month.
-
ONE-TO-ONES: if you’d like an opportunity to meet up regularly with an older church member for a chat and a pray, email Betsy on to find out more.
-
HOMEGROUPS (small midweek groups) and CLUSTERS (larger midweek groups) meet alternate weeks for prayer, Bible study and fellowship, and welcome student members. Check out the Cluster board in the Square to get in contact with a Cluster, and they can put you in a Homegroup.
-
SERVING ON A SUNDAY: there are a million and one ways to get involved, from Kids work to the Sung Worship Team, and it’s always appreciated. Have a chat with one of the Student Team or check out the information sheets at the Welcome Desk for details.
-
STUDENT MEALS: once a term a free culinary feast will be put on for you on a Sunday, and all students are welcome.
If you would like to be involved in any of the above or would like to join the student mailing list then email Jo on or chat to a member of the Student Team – we’re here to make you feel welcome and answer any questions you have.
International Students
We have a group of people in the church who are especially keen
to welcome internationals, both Christians and those who aren't
Christians.
- we have a free international lunch after the morning service
each week so that friendships can be developed.
- there is an international homegroup on Monday evenings for internationals
and British people who want to meet internationals. This group
is for Bible study and prayer (in simple English) and our aim
is to support and encourage each other and grow together in our
faith.
If you are an international student and would like to know more
about these opportunities or other international activities in Cambridge
or if you are a British person who would like to be involved in
welcoming internationals to the church in anyway then please contact
the church office.
